On vellum
Oval, 72 mm. high, in gilt-metal frame with spiral cresting, the reverse engraved 'Gen,,l Monck, / Duke of Albemarle. / by Cooper'
A label on the reverse of the frame is inscribed 'Superb Miniature / by Samuel Cooper.' and 'Collection Miss Seymour / Exhibited V & A June 1862 / No 2590 / P. 234'
