Gouache heightened with gold on paper, the lady in striped trousers, pink scarf, and transparent blue dress and bodice, edged with gold, stands on a patch of green sward, playing a tamboura, pale yellow background with a rim of jagged clouds and slate-blue sky, black rule, midnight blue leaf, mounted

The reverse is inscribed in takri characters: sri surat kanchana daiji di sri, 'the gracious appearance of the lady courtesan or singing girl'
