addressed to her sister, Mary, in New Jersey, with a green one cent stamp and post mark New Rochelle, N.Y. Jul 30 5.30PM 1912 and saying that she has lost her position and is looking for work, the front with stylised picture of a four-funnel liner with title reading THE ILL-FATED S.S. "TITANIC" OF THE WHITE STAR LINE WHICH SANK ON HER MAIDEN TRIP APRIL 15TH 1912 WITH A LOSS OF OVER 1500 SOULS (old creases) -- 3¾ x 5in. (9.5 x 13.5cm.)

Margaret Mannion appears in the Carpathia's Purser's list on p.66, no.95 of the Senate Report; she Boarded at Queenstown as a Third Class passenger, having paid £7 14s 9d for her ticket, and she was placed in lifeboat 16 after the collision.

The fact that the vessel portrayed on the card bears only a passing resemblance to Titanic indicated that it may have been produced in a hurry to meet demand for memoriam cards in the aftermath posted, as it was, just ten weeks afterwards.
