The saint portrayed half-length, frontal, blessing and holding the Book of Gospels, the latter with a luxurious binding emulating gold and stone-encrustation, his face depicted realistically with soft shades, his phelonion opulently decorated with crosses, on light green ground, the silver-gilt oklad framed by applied foliage
