TEN SYRIAN CYLINDER SEALS
circa early 3rd millennium b.c.
Chiefly of serpentine and diorite, one engraved with a fence-like pattern around a star; two with highly abstract figures; one with a standing figure with his arms raised before a star and a tree; one with a standing figure before a bull and an inverted stag; one with a figure with a tripod in his raised hand before a feline, another figure inverted; one with a row of bulls; one with a standing figure before a stag; one with a row of figures with their arms raised in supplication; and one of haematite with a worshipper before a seated figure
