Around The Beatles was a television special featuring various artists, broadcast on Wednesday, 6th May, 1964. Although filmed at Wembley Studios before a studio audience, the participants were required to pre-record their songs at IBC recording studios, Portland Place, London on 19th April. These pre-records were then used as a soundtrack to the filmed studio performance at Wembley Studios.

The Beatles costume sketch was a spoof of the Interlude section of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream with John as "Thisbe", Paul "Pyramus", George "Moonshine" and Ringo "Lion". The photograph of John, Paul and George on a decorated platform is from the opening when they mimed a trumpet fanfare.
