From the Shahnama of Firdawsi, gouache heightened with gold on paper, the dead Bahram Chubina lies, his head in the lap of his kneeling sister who wears blue robes, two figures kneel before him, three cusped arches behind them, each containing leafy landscapes, added identification inscriptions above Bahram Chubina and his sister, within gold and polychrome rules, with lines of nasta'liq arranged in four columns above and two columns below, one heading in larger red nasta'liq, mounted, framed and glazed
