The East Indiaman 'Vigilant' of circa 1778, 1:48 scale, built by M. Savill-Smithin with bound masts of degame, yards with stun's'l booms, standing and running rigging, carved lion figurehead, hair rails, heads, anchors, catheads, bitts, belaying rails, gratings, stove pipe, deck rails, companionways, chicken and pig pens, bell, double helm, deck light, guns in carriages, capstan, spare spars and two ship's boats in chocks and other details. The hull, planked in maple and copper plated to the waterline has stern and quarter gallery ballustrading decorated with dolphins and female figures, closed gunports and scuppers and is finished in natural wood, blue, cream and matt varnish -- 42 x 61in.
