Gouache heightened with gold on paper, the rulers sit in the foreground surrounded by deities and religious teachers, Krishna stands towards the back of the composition, the whole group within a glade surrounded by trees, laid down on card between red and yellow margins with white and black rules, mounted, framed and glazed

拍品專文

The figure to the left in the foreground is the same as that in the lower left corner of the miniature in lot 339, a patron of the arts who only seems to appear in miniatures where he appears as a devotee of deities. The figures in the foreground appear to be his son, and also his grandson who may be the same as the figure identified as Umaprasada in the Amsterdam exhibition miniature noted under lot 339. Here Raj Lalchand shows his devotion not only to Siva and Krishna, but also, depicted more centrally, three holy men.
