After the immensely popular landmark film The Jazz Singer (1927), the first 'talkie', Warner Brothers were quick to make a follow-up with Al Jolson in The Singing Fool (1928). Many consider Jolson to be the greatest entertainer of all time. Posters for these two films are incredibly scarce and highly collectable. One of the reasons for their scarcity may be due to the fact that in 1927 only two hundred cinemas were equipped for sound and therefore the posters were not as widely distributed as silent films of the same period. Furthermore it is very rare to find a full-length image of Jolson on any poster. This is the only known copy of a U.S. three-sheet for this film.
