[And:] autograph letter signed by Frederick William Frohawk (1861-1946; zoological artist and lepidopterist) to Johnson, 30 April 1908, 3 pages, 8vo, thanking him for the receipt of his latest 'very pretty and artistic book.' This copy of the book appears to have been extra-illustrated by Johnson with an extra leaf of a drawing of Nymphalis antiopa (Camberwell Beauty), apropos of which Frohawk writes: 'Antiopa is a species which I greatly admire from various points of view'.

THREE UNRECORDED NON-NATURAL HISTORY BOOKS BY JOHNSON. The first-named is a collection of Christian poems, while the second is a compilation of Sunday School addresses. William Wilson is a novel, but shows distinctive Johnson traits with a footnote on the verso of the 11th leaf mentioning butterflies, and the novel as a whole having a strong spiritual and religious theme.
