THREE EGYPTIAN FAIENCE SHABTIS
LATE PERIOD TO PTOLEMAIC PERIOD, 664-30 B.C.
Each depicted mummiform with the arms folded over the chest, holding agricultural implements in each hand, a seed sack over the left shoulder, wearing a tripartite wig and plaited false beard; one purple in color (Ptolemaic Period, 304-30 B.C.), inscribed "Instructions of the Osiris, the one who causes the god to endure, Henebheneb(?), born of Nefret-her-ib, justified;" one pale green in color (Late Period, Dynasty XXVI-XXX, 664-343 B.C.), inscribed "Instructions of the Osiris, Opener of the Mouth(?) and Scribe in Athribis, Wepesh(?), born of Aset-resh, justified;" and one light turquoise blue in color (Ptolemaic Period, 304-30 B.C.), inscribed "Instructions of the Osiris Iretuerow, born of Khuaabes(?)"
