Lot Essay

The inscription on the largest is very rubbed. Its beginning can be made out as: umila bi-ra[sm] ... (Made for).

There are a number of similar enamelled glass beakers in the al-Sabah Collection, Kuwait (Stefano Carboni, Glass from Islamic Lands, London, 2002, p.326). No. 85a in particular bears resemblance to the largest of these and 85c. to the middle.
