THREE SMALL JADE RAM CARVINGS
19TH CENTURY
One is carved and pierced as a recumbent ram with legs tucked beneath the body, the vapor issuing from its mouth supporting a yinyang symbol, as a kid clambers up its back. The stone is of an even, pale green-grey tone. One is carved as two rams shown side by side with their heads turned back to face each other, also with vapor and a yinyang symbol. The stone is of pale grey-green and brown tone, with the brown color highlighting one of the rams. The third group is carved as three rams (sanyang), the largest flanked by two small kids, all with vapor issuing from their mouths that envelops the grouping and supports two yinyang emblems. The largest ram is of a grey-green tone, and the kids are of pale brown tone.
2 3/8, 1½ and 1 5/8 in. (6, 3.8, and 4.1 cm.) long (3)
