Each of similar shape on short foot, the Syrian example painted under the turquoise glaze with a central angled black cross issuing radiating angled swirling panels, the outer extremities with dotted panels, the exterior with a band of stylised inscription, repaired clean breaks; the Persian very finely potted with an opaque pure turquoise glaze left completely undecorated, repaired clean breaks, areas of iridescence
