OTTOMAN TURKEY, FIRST HALF OF 19TH CENTURY
Each of rectangular form, the velvet ground heavily woven with metal thread a central panel on dark brown ground applied with blue, green and purple floral spray surrounded by dense gold arabesque medallion with trefoil terminals, further smaller floral sprays above and below, around this a minor border of gold garlands issuing flower heads on red ground, in an outer border of dense leafy arabesques on green ground with cusped calligraphic medallions on each side, further minor brown border, the velvet with numerous areas of wear and some tears
