TWO RED-OVERLAY GLASS SNUFF BOTTLES
1780-1860
The first, 1780-1860, is carved through the transparent red overlay to the semi-opaque bubble-suffused ground on both sides with five bats, flying above an endless knot on one side. The second, 1800-1860, is carved through the transparent red overlay to the clear ground on both sides with the characters fei and long (flying dragon), and mask and ring handles on the narrow sides.
2 7/8 and 2 ½ in. (7.3 and 6.3 cm.) high, shell and agate stoppers
