Two sets of Imari plates
Edo Period (Circa 1700)
Comprising a set of five plates decorated to the centre with a flower-vase on a terrace below shaped cartouches to the well and a foliate-shaped rim decorated with kiku, plum and clouds (one with minute chip), 21.3 cm. diam.; and a set of six plates with a stylised kiku-head in the central medallion surrounded by alternating peony and chrysanthemum to the well and rim (slight rubbing), 25.1 cm. diam.
