TWO STAFFORDSHIRE CREAMWARE FIGURES OF A SHEPHERD AND SHEPHERDESS
Circa 1785
Of Wood family type, the shepherd wearing a plumed tricorn hat, long coat in pale brown with ochre lining, a waistcoat sponged in manganese and green breeches, a seated hound at his feet, the shepherdess with a green round hat, a flowing coat in brown with ochre lining, green bodice and plain skirt with blue lining, a lamb recumbent at her feet, both on rocky mound bases
The shepherd 9 7/8 in. (25 cm.) high (2)
