OTTOMAN SYRIA, PROBABLY JERUSALEM, THIRD QUARTER 16TH CENTURY
Each tile painted in black, cobalt and turquoise on a white ground under a clear glaze, one with a lattice of split palmettes enclosing cloudbands and peonies, the other tile part of an identical design but on a reduced and repeated scale, both tiles with chips to edges, loss of glaze in places
