Two Westerwald tankards with pewter mounts
comprising: a cylindrical tankard incised with a band of stylised scrolling foliage between sprigged bands of diamond shaped bosses, the hinged pewter cover with shell thumbpiece -- 7¼in. (18.4cm.) high; the other incised with a bird among branches within an oval panel among stylised flowerheads, the hinged pewter cover with a ball thumbpiece incribed 46AS -- 7¾in. (19.7cm.) high, both enriched in cobalt blue, 18th century (2)
