Koeman I Vdm 1; NMM III 179; Phillips 749
The maps in this atlas make up the first map of the world on a uniform scale, constructed on a modified conical projection, which when assembled form a globe with a diameter of 7.75m. The contents of the atlas appears to vary according to subscriber. In this copy the contents conform with the indices although the copy is not indentical to that described by Koeman; the Koeman copy has 5 additional maps, most duplicated number plates in vol. 4, while the Phillips copy has 4 additional maps to vols 1, 5, and 6 in comparison to Koeman. Koeman describes a copy with as many as 26 bis and duplicate sheets, although he does not specify which copy this is. This copy with fewer bis plates may well be an early issue. (6)
