Approx. thirty ambrotypes, majority sixth or quarter-plate, three half-plate, variously mounted, most with gilt slips, majority in folding leather cases (most lacking front covers) or framed, one paper-taped and one in Union case(a lot)

Lot Essay

Unusual group of photographs of shop fronts and shop workers, including a boot-maker's, a butcher's, a supply store, an ale store/brewery and many others. The Union case is 'American Country Life-Summer's Evening' by Littlefield, Parsons & Co.
