CHINE, XVIIÈME-XVIIIÈME SIÈCLE
De forme balustre aplatie reposant sur un pied ovale évasé, il est orné sur chaque face d'un dragon sinueux à la poursuite de la perle enflammée. Le col cintré terminé par un bord évasé quadrilobé est flanqué de deux prises latérales en forme de tête d'éléphant. La base porte une marque apocryphe Xuande à six caractères dans un cartouche rectangulaire.

Compare with a similar vase, but of a slightly smaller size (23 cm. high), also bearing an apocryphal Xuande mark, sold at Christies, London, South Kensington, 11 November 2011, lot 1022. See a 17th Century 'elephant' vase with handles of a similar shape sold at Sotheby's New York, 21 March 2015, lot 764.
