Lewes: Sussex Press, J. Baxter, London: Simpkin and Marshall, [between 1830 and 1832]. 12mo., folding engraved frontispiece, woodcut title vignette, red half morocco gilt by Roger de Coverly, top edge gilt. Provenance: J.W. Goldman (bookplate) -- E.D.R. Eagar (sold Christie's, 21 April 2005, lot 89).

"Twelfth" [more correctly the 13th] edition. R.S. Rait Kerr writes: "Baxter published the 12th and final edition of Lambert's Guide about 1830 or a year or two later. Unlike all earlier editions, the Laws appear in authentic form, and it is unfortunate that an accurate date cannnot be ascribed to their publication" (Laws of Cricket, 1950, p. 125). FINE COPY OF THIS KEY EDITION. Padwick 383: "probably the last edition".
