FIFTEENTH AND SIXTEENTH EDITION. The former was the last edition with an almanack listing past and present events. The 1879 edition substitutes a simple calendar. It reports in detail on the famous Australian victory at Lord’s on 27 May: ‘Spofforth made such havoc with the M.C.C. sticks that in 6 overs he actually took 6 wickets (3 in one over) for 4 runs!’
