THIRD EDITION IN HARDBACK, thirty-fifth in the series. Tom Richardson’s 273 wickets at 14.45 runs apiece stands out as the great performance of the 1897 season. Special interest is added by the matches of ‘The Philadelphians in England’. ‘Plum’ Warner continues the emphasis on international cricket by contributing an article on ‘Cricket in the West Indies and America’. One of the 'Five Cricketers of the Year' on the photoplate is the legendary Gilbert Jessop.
