Lot Essay

A graduate of the Central School of Politics, Wu Kungan was a native of Jiangsu. In 1945 he went to the U.S. for his doctorate degree in educational psychology, then he taught at Lincoln University. Whenever visiting San Francisco, Zhang Daqian often stayed at the residence of Wu and thus Wu acquired several of his paintings.
