Lot Essay

The inscribed cross was probably added later in the 4th Century A.D. following the Edict of Toleration, issued by the Tetrarchy under Galerius in A.D. 311, and the Edict of Milan passed by Constantine I in A.D. 313, which together legalised Christianity.
