AN EGYPTIAN YELLOW LIMESTONE SHABTI FOR REMENTI
NEW KINGDOM, LATE DYNASTY XVIII, PERHAPS REIGN OF TUTANKHAMUN, 1333-1323 B.C.
Depicted mummiform with the arms folded over the chest, holding an agricultural implement and a seed bag in each hand, the headcloth with incised striations, worn low on the head and preserving traces of Egyptian blue, wearing a wesekh collar with six rows of beads in raised relief, a heart pendant hanging below, the facial features finely carved with elongated almond-shaped eyes and extended cosmetic lines, long, thin brows, pierced ears, a straight nose and small mouth, a short striated beard below the chin, partially preserving seven horizontal bands of incised hieroglyphs, reading,"Recitation by Osiris for the Ka of the Administrator/Agent, justified; Receive (or attain) the life of Amun which comes forth in the presence of Amun; acquire every beautiful, pure thing, cool water and wine, acquire a sweet breeze; that one may make respect/create authority (?) for the Ka of the Osiris Rementi; O you Shabti, if I am in any work which is done in the Necropolis..."
