A BRESCIAN WHEEL-LOCK HOLSTER PISTOL
With tapering barrel formed in two stages with moulded girdle between, plain flat lock with slender wheel-bracket cut in the form of decorative sprigs, moulded baluster dog, and sliding pan-cover, walnut full stock inset with a series of pierced engraved flat iron plaques, including a pair of rosette bands impaled by the barrel pins, a cartouche filled with a bird-of-prey ahead of the trigger-guard, and 'fishtail' pommel bound by a moulded band framing a larger oval, decorated with a pierced pattern of scrolls and foliage inhabited by pairs of birds, iron trigger-guard decorated en-suite, moulded iron fore-end cap, baluster trigger, and original ramrod with iron baluster tip (the fore-end with small repair on one side).
