    A GERMAN STEEL SEVEN-FLANGED MACE
    MID-16TH CENTURY
    The head with strongly shaped flanges cut with decorative tri-lobate ornament, with reinforced points and compressed button cap, tubular haft cut with spiral bands of decorative fluting, pierced for a thong, and fluted domed pommel with spirally fluted button finial (four flanges slightly chipped, another two with very minor damage)
