Accompanied by a certificate of registration as a Tokubetsu Hozon Token [Sword especially worthy of preservation] no. 142248 issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai [Society for the Preservation of the Japan Art Sword] on 9th June 1997
This blade is by the first generation Hirosada, a pupil of Tadayoshi I, who was later re-named Yoshiie. He died in 1666 at the age of 82.
The name was succeeded by Omi no kami Hirosada, son of Kanehiro and pupil of Tadakuni, who was active around the Jokyo era (1684 - 1688).
