BIRMINGHAM SILVER HALLMARKS FOR 1819
Silver maker's mark IB, a mullet above, with russet barrel inscribed 'London', silver 'spider' fore-sight, bevelled lock signed on an oval within a trophy-of-flags and decorated en suite with the breech, walnut full stock profusely inlaid with silver wire scrollwork sown with engraved silver celestial plaques, silver mounts cast in low relief, and white metal side-plate, Tower private proof marks (the stock chipped below the lock, small pieces of inlay missing, the mounts rubbed, ramrod missing).
