SIGNED IBRAHIM, TURKEY, DATED AH 1241/1825-26 AD
With single-edged slightly curved blade decorated with extensive gold damascening, one side with two calligraphic cartouches, edged with arabesque and issuing tapering palmettes and scrolling vine, the other side with similar cartouches densely filled with scrolling arabesques, cusped cartouche leading to the hilt on each side similarly filled, the spine with date in a cartouche surrounded by scrolling vine, with walrus ivory hilt, minor losses to damascening

As well as the signature and date, the inscription on this blade includes a Turkish couplet which reads, bu biçagin sahibi mansur ola , daim 'adasi onun makhur ola, 'May this sword's owner be victorious, may its enemy be always defeated'.
