Oblong 2o (267 x 360 mm). Engraved title and 39 engraved plates with letterpress text beneath, by and after LUCAS SCHNITZER, plates 30 and 38 printed from 2 plates. (Some light marginal browning). 20th-century sheep old sides laid down (sides chipping of and worn); cloth folding case.
The work commemorates the funeral procession of CHRISTIAN WILHELM (1581-1655), Margrave of Brandenburg-Bayern, in September 1655 presenting a panorama of the funeral cortege through the engravings of the separate groups of mourners, each with their names and ranks given in the letterpress captions beneath.
