2° (396 x 325 mm). Large colored folding map of Long Island and 96 colored maps, some with contemporary hand-coloring (numerous double-page, 9 folding). (Some minor marginal chipping to a few maps, a few short tears.) Contemporary gilt-lettered cloth (rebacked with modern leather, corners renewed, some light rubbing). Provenance: Ruth Ackerly (presentation inscription “September 25th 1913 by O.B.A.” on front free endpaper).
FIRST EDITION. Rare lithographed and colored atlas printed by F.W. Beers including “Plan of the State of New York,” “Map of the Central Portions of the Cities of New York and Brooklyn,” “Map of Long Island,” and 93 detailed regional colored lithographic maps of Long Island and numerous printed business notices.
