2 parts in 1 vol., 4° (327 x 260mm). Chromolithographed half-title, frontispiece after Somov, 52 plates, illustrations throughout, 29 of which full-page. Publisher's original polished burgundy morocco, spine and covers tooled in gilt, white moiré silk endpapers, top edge gilt (spine faintly faded).
FIRST EDITION, DELUXE ISSUE IN THE PUBLISHER'S ORIGINAL MOROCCO BINDING. An excellent example of this masterpiece of Russian printing. The whole edition comprised 200 copies; it is not known how many of these were issued in morocco. Rossiiskaia Gosudarstvennaia Biblioteka 216.
