Contemporary embroidered dos-a-dos binding: white satin with chalice design on sides and quatrefoils on spines worked in coloured silk and silver wire (lightly worn), edges gilt and gauffered; modern blue morocco box with Thore Virgin cypher. Provenance: How family birth records of 1666-68 written on flyleaf -- Thore Virgin, 1926 (inscription, bookplate; Bib. Quarnforsiana, 1947, no. 276) -- [Rolf Wistrand]. STC 1927; D&M 405; STC 16364 (?). Sold as binding, not subject to return.
