8o (162 x 95 mm). 6 engraved plates by William Blake after Maria Flaxman. (Lacking the half-title, occasional light spotting.) Contemporary straight-grained green morocco gilt, edges gilt, by Carpenter (some light rubbing). Provenance: acquired from Goodspeed's Book Shop. 1954.
FIRST EDITION, produced at a time of great financial difficulty for Blake, who received ten guineas for each plate from his patron Hayley. Bentley 471; Keynes 125.
