    BOCCACCIO, Giovanni (1313-75). Libro delle Donne Illustri. Translated from Latin into Italian by Giuseppe Betussi (c. 1512-c.1573). Venice: Pietro dei Nicolini da Sabbio, 1547. 8° (155 x 104mm). Italic type. Printer's device on title, woodcut historiated initials. With blank leaves X7-8, some deckle edges. (Some light spotting and staining.) Contemporary vellum wrapper, evidence of two fore-edge ties, title written on lower edges (a little stained, notes on front and back covers, 20th-century paper shelf label on front). Provenance: one title inscription deleted -- Giovanni Jacopo Bertagna of Castelnuovo (17th-century inscriptions, ownership verse on title verso).

    A fresh copy, in its contemporary vellum wrapper, of the second edition in Betussi's Italian translation. Adams B-2143; EDIT 6315.
