8o (198 x 135 mm). 12 engraved folding plates by CARLO BUSSIGNONI after MARCANTONIO CHIARINI (some repaired tears). Gilt-blocked floral paper boards.
The performance at the Teatro Malvezzi of the libretto by DOMENICO DAVID with music composed by GIACOMO ANTONIO PERTI, who is not mentioned in the work. The plates are by the renowned Bolognese architect Marcantonio Chiarini and give evidence of his use of multi-angled perspective, a new innovation in 17th-century stage design technique. The opera was first performed at the Teatro S. Giovanni Grisostomo in Venice in 1693. Sonneck, p.526.
