Near-contemporary dark green straight-grained morocco, covers with gilt- and blind-ruled borders, spine in 6 compartments, gilt and gilt-lettered, edges gilt concealing a fore-edge painting of BURNS (medallion portrait bust) AND HIS BIRTHPLACE (hinges cracked); modern green morocco case. Provenance: Ad. Rolland (cropped signature on title of this original subscriber); J.M.W. (initials on interior of solander case); Estelle Doheny (her sale Christie's Camarillo California, 1 February 1988, lot 583).
