Rare second edition of a work first printed by Richer a year earlier. The author was a protestant lawyer named Jean Dagoneau, lord of Cholières, an erudite 'gentilhomme' and poet who devoted himself to the study of science, literature and art. The present work is important for the information given about the customs and manners of his day. Adams C-1463; Brunet I, 1849.
