Folio (390 x 280 mm). Lithographed throughout. (Some spotting in two leaves, deckle edges lightly spotted.) Original green half leather over black cloth boards, spine with raised bands and lettered in gilt in two compartments (spine faded to brown, extremities rubbed). Provenance: near-contemporary gift inscription on the front blank.
FIRST EDITION, NUMBER 21 OF 37 COPIES ONLY. This rare Uranian work was published entirely by Chubb on his own press. It is a work of intense longing, and complex personal mythology in which Chubb 'formulates his fantasies and attempts to raise his erotic inclinations to a spiritual level' (d'Arch Smith). d'Arch Smith, Love in Earnest, pp. 227-8.
