CHURCHILL, Winston S. Typed quotation signed ("Winston S. Churchill"), n.d. 1 page, oblong card (3½ x 5¼in.), remnants of mounting on verso.
"BLOOD, TOIL, TEARS AND SWEAT". A signed excerpt from one of Churchill's most memorable speeches--his first address as Prime Minister after replacing Neville Chamberlain on 10 May 1940. We have here the key passage uttered by Churchill before the House of Commons on 13 May 1940: "I would say to the House, as I said to those who have joined this Government: 'I have nothing to offer you but blood, toil, tears and sweat.'"
