Title with woodcut device, 3 full-page woodcuts, medallion portrait of Dante, head-pieces and initials. (Title slightly soiled at margins and clipped at lower corner, light waterstaining to bottom margin of final quire.) Later 17th-century red morocco panelled in gilt, spine with repeated acorn design in three compartments and title 'Dante' in the other (rebacked, preserving old spine, extremities worn). Provenance: Robert A. Nedonchel (early signature on title) -- Robert Clive, first Baron Clive of Plassey (1725-1774; bookplate).
