Together 18 volumes, 8o (245 x 165 mm). (Volumes 1-7 with marginal repairs occasionally crossing the text, some gutters renewed, all lightly browned and with some spotting.) Original printed blue paper wrappers to the last 5 volumes, the others in modern wrappers (some light soiling, a bit chipped); green morocco gilt slipcase. Provenance: Stephen M. Dryfoos (bookplate); Kenyon Starling (bookplate).
FIRST EDITIONS, including the well-known stories: The Haunted House, A Message from the Sea, Tom Tiddler's Ground, Somebody's Luggage, Mrs Lirriper's Lodgings, Mrs. Lirriper's Legacy, Doctor Marigold's Prescriptions, Mugby Junction, No Thoroughfare (with Wilkie Collins), and several others.
