Contemporary diced calf gilt, spine gilt in compartments (joints split but cords holding, some light rubbing). Provenance: Newborough (armorial bookplate). FIRST EDITION. cf. Abbey Travel 635 (including Narrative of a Second Expedition published 1828); Hill 635; Nissen ZBI 1419; Sabin 25624 (erroneously calling for 34 plates and 4 maps): "The valuable appendix on natural history is by Sir John Richardson, Col. Sabine, Lieut. Hood, etc."
