The Fly Fisher's Guide. Liverpool: for the author, 1816. 8°, 8 hand-coloured engraved plates (without the plain plate, not always found, upper cover, plate 1 and title detached), contemporary red half roan, uncut (spine worn, covers a little soiled).
First trade edition. In the same year the author brought out 12 copies in 4° with the plates "coloured with greater care". This is an internally good uncut copy with bright plates. Westwood & Satchell p. 21.
